When I go back to England, I find myself making excuses for the Americans' by saying things like 'well, they do it this way because...' never so American than when I am in England. I suppose I'm on the fence, right now.
See, I'm even picking up the accent.
Blessings, StarStella Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06699491230987143490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-20388226981783781692009-06-27T02:40:15.672-04:002009-06-27T02:40:15.672-04:00Interesting post! As I said in my most recent post, moving away from the States has given me a more objective love of my home country. I have gone through the phase of being disgusted by it's bad habits and now I accept the bad things and still love it. But that's much easier living outside the country when I can pick and choose what I receive from it!

When I go home I am amazed by the intense advertising and the shameless consumerism of every holiday, event, and location, but I dont feel it ever ruins my experience and I dont feel I have been ruined by it.

My background in the States was a middle class but not well to do background, raised by a university professor, and we couldn't afford to buy into the consumerism--either financially or in mindset!Michellouihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16841678308675092702noreply@blogger.com
