Yoga, powertone or weights and an aerobic exercise e.g. spinning, kick boxing every week.

Spinning is great as you can fake going up & down hills but still get a good workout & sweat without hurting much!

Good Luck!Daffodillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02604680101891968889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-88747971676672732712008-06-21T03:45:00.000-04:002008-06-21T03:45:00.000-04:00Hi, are you the author of this site www.opentoengl...Hi, are you the author of this site www.opentoengland.org ?
I'm a grad student in Beijing, and I'm writng an essay on cultural stereotypes about Britain and China. He bought it anyway, and almost had to admit defeat!

Sandy - I think almost all of my colleagues at work are going to WeightWatchers right now. I'm not, but at least I have people to share my dieting and exercise with.

ExpatMum - I have a dodgy shoulder too so I can't swim crawl. (Actually, I never could!) Breast stroke is less efficient and uses more calories anyway!

Rosiero - wow! 7 pounds in one week - that's amazing! I can actually lose 2 pounds in a day, but it all comes back as soon as I drink a glass of water!Almost Americanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17865905831387595915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-50604758362374072932008-06-19T16:18:00.000-04:002008-06-19T16:18:00.000-04:00I am trying to lose about 20 -25 pounds in total a...I am trying to lose about 20 -25 pounds in total and in the last week have managed to lose 7 pounds. By cutting out fat from my diet - that is no butter/margarine at all, low-fat milk or yoghurt, only chicken or fish. Also high fibre and loads of toning exercise. I can get into a skirt this week that I couldn't last week!! So it can be done. But why do I spend my days thinking of chocolate!ADDYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01018958238940897902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-2309974938392660112008-06-19T15:18:00.000-04:002008-06-19T15:18:00.000-04:00Good for you. Swimming is fab though - I just wish I didn't have such a dodgy shoulder.Expat mumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17798190669591053390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-86158754240824628942008-06-18T08:20:00.000-04:002008-06-18T08:20:00.000-04:00Why not join the elderexercise blog? I need to lose the 20 kilos I've put on since coming to France but I'm far too greedy and not so active since having a gammy knee. Keeping track of one's efforts with 'virtual' friends is a great help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-67827333781276749772008-06-16T23:53:00.000-04:002008-06-16T23:53:00.000-04:00I read an interesting article in the Guardian that...I read an interesting article in the Guardian that said Britain actually consumes the most chocolate per capita in the world! can you believe it? I suppose it's becasue Cadbury's is just so darn good!

Yes, there are two kinds of Americans--super fit and then there's those who are overweight. When I got her I was merely 120 pounds and within 3 months gained almost 30 pounds form the high fat, soda diet I suddenly had. Plus, a small here is practically a large there and portion sizes are so huge here to boot!Mmmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16379020705220234984noreply@blogger.com
