A quick saute won't do it. Eat them when the bright green turns dull like canned green beans. Eat with butter, salt, pepper and cider vinegar. Flavor somewhere between asparagus and baby spinach. Unique texture a bit like scallops.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-62658629202324839752010-05-24T03:27:05.193-04:002010-05-24T03:27:05.193-04:00Oh I know, they are the funniest looking vegetable...Oh I know, they are the funniest looking vegetables, aren't they? I must admit I never tried them, even though I love all vegetables. It was always the question of what you could possibly do with them and now that I'm in London there is no opportunity. Still love the name though.Nappy Valley Housewifehttp://nappyvalleyhousewife.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-12918887976139625262010-05-23T18:43:20.838-04:002010-05-23T18:43:20.838-04:00Yes Diney, they really are called fiddleheads!Yes Diney, they really are called fiddleheads!Almost Americanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17865905831387595915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-11126084108116590912010-05-23T17:30:00.030-04:002010-05-23T17:30:00.030-04:00thought you were kidding until I read the other co...thought you were kidding until I read the other comments - they are really called fiddleheads?!dineyhttp://oldermumsarefun.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-71677836110526848902010-05-12T22:07:59.714-04:002010-05-12T22:07:59.714-04:00Yes, Addy, I think the name comes from the shape o...Yes, Addy, I think the name comes from the shape of the ferns as they begin to grow.<br /><br />The way things have been going this week, if I bought a fiddlehead pizza, the kids would refuse to eat it - "Ooh, yucky, green stuff!"<br /><br />I think both kids are completely oblivious of the British elections.Almost Americanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17865905831387595915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29874674.post-58111462168029983412010-05-12T15:11:33.521-04:002010-05-12T15:11:33.521-04:00Ahhhah!
