Wooly Socks And Flip-Flops

After 31 years in the United States, I find myself more American than I ever expected to be, yet not so American in many ways.

Ha! I am starting to have a feeling we might feel like that on our forthcoming trip this week. If the snow and rain hasn't got rid of all the leaves first....how is it where you are?
NVG - the color is probably at its peak here. I think you said you were going to CT? This map shows there's probably still good color there. The rain and snow* haven't done anything to the leaves really - it's high winds that end a foliage season faster. It always looks best in the sunshine though.
*The snow was what I call 'English snow' - very pretty in the air but it melted as soon as it hit the ground in most places. Where it did stick it was only briefly and you could still see the grass underneath it.
Ha Ha!! Too funny!
So true! Was just up in the Lake District this weekend and I have to say the colours were breathtaking...
