$3 is a bargain!
Absolutely, $3 for 20 daffodils was a bargain! I think I will buy some more tomorrow :-)
Out of curiosity I checked the prices in my local Sainsbury's supermarket (in the UK). A rather manky-looking bunch of ten daffs was selling for 99p - reduced from £1.99. Not a bouquet, mind you, just a small bunch with a plastic label holding it together.
$3 is about £1.85 so it certainly looks like you got a bargain.
Thanks for the price check Arnie - I certainly did get a bargain - cheaper than in the UK even though they flew them 3,000 miles to get here!! Wow! They weren't a nice bouquet here either - just 10 daffs held together with an elastic for $1.50. We pick out the ones that are still just buds and then they open up after they're in a vase.
The lane outside our house has loads of daffodils in bud....there is always at least one open on St Davids Day. Loads of blue and purple Iris Reticulata and crocus and snowdrops, and a few bewildered tulips are in flower....and all this after what was reputed as having been the coldest winter for 100 years
I'm not sure my TJ's daffodils are from England, but they certainly remind me of home. Aren't they cheerful? Like sunshine in a vase. We are actually in search of snow here - we were promised it last night in Santa Barbara, but nothing materialized. Send good snow vibes, and I'll try and send a little southern CA sunshine your way!

Yep, the daffodils are up here. Ironically, they are cheaper there than they are in the stores here
I love this time of year when all the daffs start to appear--and for you, how cool was that, that you could buy a little piece of England!!
