As always on the 4th of July, we headed off to our local parade. There were all kinds of groups in the parade - police, firefighters, farmers, Scouts - and, as always, many antique cars. Can you spot what is 'wrong' about this picture though?

Hahahahaha! I had to click on the photo to enlarge it then I saw it immediately! Can I say here or will that spoil it for everyone else? I'll hint: it has to do with what America was before the Revolution. Well sort of. An updated version. ;)
Cute!
The thing that usually tickles me each year about Independence Day here in the UK is my US colleagues asking whether we celebrate it here too.
Mmmm, let me think about that. Celebrate getting our 'ass whupped' by the colonies. Nope, don't think we'll be celebrating that one!
The Union Flag t-shirt?
The dress made of the Union Flag is hardly celebrating the USA's independence from the UK, is it? :)
First thought: Where's the seatbelt?
Hilarious! My middle son was going to wear a shirt with a union jack flag on it but decided against it as he didn't want to upset the apple cart. Bless!
Those shirts seem to have been good sellers at Walmart this year, judging from the number of people I've seen wearing them. I was truly surprised to see someone IN the parade wearing one though. Deliberate statement or cluelessness? Someone seriously lacking a clue I would guess - "Hey, I'll wear my red, white and blue shirt!" It's that lack of awareness of the reason for the holiday that leads to Americans overseas not understanding that the 4th of July is an American holiday.
And as for the seatbelt - the cars in the parade were moving very slowly!
Love it. My husband ran a 5 mile race on July 4th in an English flag t-shirt.....shows great strength! Let's unite!
